Elizabeth A. Richards Associate
Attorney Beth Richards is an experienced attorney and an associate at The Spence Law Firm. She grew up in several different states across the Midwest before earning her Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. After graduation, Beth moved out to the Tetons to explore the mountains, then moved to northern Minnesota for a year of flying lessons and running dog sleds. She returned to the Tetons where she attended law school and obtained her J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law.
After law school, Beth clerked in Boise for two different courts—”the Idaho Supreme Court for one year and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for one year—”before securing a position at a small, nonprofit, environmental law firm in Boise. Ultimately, Beth moved back home to the Tetons where she joined The Spence Law Firm as an associate. She enjoys helping Wyoming residents and clients across the country seek the justice they deserve after being harmed by another's negligence.
Beth is especially skilled in handling detailed research and thorough preparation for cases that pass through the firm. When confronted with a new topic, she immerses herself in research, reading everything she can until she fully understands the matter at hand. She strives to always continue to learn, whether it be about ground bearing pressure needed to support a crane, airbag components, copyright law, or removal statutes. This ability to quickly and thoroughly learn new things allows Beth to become a better writer and, therefore, better serve The Spence Law Firm's clients. She is extremely dedicated, disciplined, and highly detail-oriented. She is especially adept at legal researching and writing and is an invited member of the Order of the Coif.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys track skiing, backcountry skiing, biking, hiking, camping, and cooking. She is an active member of her community, donating her free time to volunteering at local animal shelters.
