Drilling Rig Accident Kills Worker in North Dakota: Record Settlement

Just one day before trial, we successfully settled a wrongful death case against Pioneer Drilling and Denali Oil and Gas for the wrongful death of 20 year old, Zachary Anderson. Zach was killed while working as a stabber on a drilling rig. The confidential settlement was the largest wrongful death settlement for noneconomic damages in North Dakota history. We also required Pioneer Drilling to change its safety policies as part of the confidential settlement.
Following the settlement Zach's family was able to set up the Zach Anderson Memorial Scholarship to honor his legacy.
