Dec 19, 2019

Reports from southeastern Wyoming are describing three oil and gas field workers who sustained serious injuries, including severe burns. By report, the victims are being treated at the Burn Unit in Colorado.

Their injuries are thought to have been the result of an oilfield compressor station explosion. The oil and gas field site where the explosion occurred is owned by EOG Resources. The injured workers were all immediately transferred to regional hospitals. Two of the workers were airlifted to Western States Burn Center in Greeley, Colorado and the other was taken by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. All are now reported in stable condition, but they remain hospitalized.

The explosion occurred west of Carpenter, Wyo., about 20 miles outside Cheyenne, Wyo., near the Colorado border. Two fire stations from Laramie County quickly responded and were able to suppress the fire.
