Catherine DiSanto Rust Associate

Catherine joined the Spence Law Firm in 2021. She is thrilled to develop her practice in a way that aligns with her fundamental belief that everyone deserves access to justice in the wake of a loss.
After earning her undergraduate degree in English and French from Davidson College, Catherine began working with first-time juvenile offenders at a social services nonprofit in Jackson, Wyoming. Catherine’s interest in social justice pushed her to pursue a career in law, where she sought a broad platform from which to help others and affect change.
At the University of Wyoming, Catherine wrote for and edited the Wyoming Law Review, served as a legal writing teaching assistant, and interned at the Spence Law Firm. Her practical experience also included judicial externships at the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Ninth Judicial District of Wyoming, and she was awarded the Janet D. Steiger Fellowship to work on consumer protection matters at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office. Catherine graduated with honors and was selected to the Order of the Coif.
After graduation, Catherine spent two and a half years clerking for the Honorable Kari Jo Gray at the Wyoming Supreme Court, where she was exposed to all manner of civil, criminal, and administrative appeals. Eager to bring her calm, engaging approach to clients of her own, Catherine is excited to return to the Spence Law Firm as an associate.
Outside of her work, Catherine relishes spending time with her family and friends, as well as skiing, cooking, backpacking, practicing yoga, and running with her dog on the beautiful trails surrounding Jackson.
