Jason A. Neville, Partner – The Spence Law Firm, LLC

Born and raised in Wyoming, Jason grew up the son of one of Wyoming's most respected defense trial lawyers. Jason spent 19 years defending doctors, product manufacturers, oil and gas companies and corporate defendants in injury cases with Wyoming's premiere defense firm. He earned a reputation as a tenacious and respected advocate, able to master the complex medicine and science behind catastrophic accidents and injuries; distilling the facts into a simple and compelling story for his clients and winning with juries.

Jason became disenchanted defending insurance companies and businesses against injured plaintiffs; using his talents against those injured by someone's negligence. He repeatedly saw good cases sold out cheap because the plaintiff's lawyer wasn't willing to try the case or unable effectively to tell their client's story; a grave disservice to the injured family and a win for the insurance company.

He brings his considerable knowledge of the inner workings of insurance and corporate defense to fight for the injured. He keenly understands defense tactics; how they build their case, their weaknesses and how to leverage these to maximize case value and win. Jason's varied trial experience spans complex medical negligence, carbon monoxide injuries, insurance bad faith, oil field accidents, traumatic brain injuries, and high stakes corporate disputes.

Jason was recently lead trial counsel in a contract dispute, winning a $35,199,154 judgment following two weeks of trial — noted as the sixth-largest bench award in the United States for 2019; and later resulting in a $52,100,000 settlement after he successfully defended the appeal. He continues to accept select corporate cases on behalf of small companies unfairly stifled and bullied by big business.

Jason earned a BA in English with a minor in American Indian Studies from the University of Wyoming in 1997; and his JD from the University of Wyoming in 2000.

He has served over 13 years on the Board for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wyoming, twice as its chair, and now serves as an advisor emeritus. He is a past chair for the Board of Professional Responsibility for the Wyoming State Bar, appointed by the Wyoming Supreme Court. He teaches across the country on trial practice and strategy. Jason also volunteers his time to teach trial skills at the University of Wyoming College of Law and volunteers for Equal Justice of Wyoming, assisting the indigent find legal help.

Jason is married with a daughter and son in college and high school. He spends his time outside of work on Wyoming's streams and rivers fly fishing; and in the mountains training for and running ultra-marathons at the 50-mile and 100-mile distance.

Through affiliation, Jason represents clients across the country in state and federal courts.
