The workers were killed and injured in Eddy County, New Mexico, as the result of a pipe that was negligently installed on a sand-separator unit. The workers were replacing a pipe that exploded under pressure, causing serious injury to one worker and fatally injuring another. After the explosion, the Spence attorneys assembled a rapid response team of experts and investigators who determined the root cause of the incident. R. Daniel Fleck and Dennis K. Wallin were lead counsel in the matter.

The Spence Law Firm has offices throughout Wyoming and New Mexico, and has developed extensive experience in oil and gas-related explosion cases, including a recent $129 million dollar resolution of several wrongful death cases near Carlsbad, New Mexico.
