Exploding Pipe Kills Worker on Wyoming Drilling Rig
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a drilling
rig pipe exploded, killing a Driggs, Idaho man who was working on the
rig. Initial reporting from the Sheriff’s Office and QEP Energy
Co., indicate that a Unit employee was killed in the pipe explosion on
the Pinedale Anticline on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.
According to QEP Energy and the Sheriff’s Office, both the man’s employer, Unit, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating the incident.
